NeuStar expands reach of .biz IDNs

Six new international domain names for the Internet have been launched by Sterling-based Neustar, Inc. for companies that do business in a variety of languages worldwide.

NeuStar (NYSE: NSR) has added Finnish, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian , Polish and Portuguese in the .biz top-level Internet domain.

The addition of these .biz internationalized domain names (IDNs) allow for the registration of names in languages of choice. NeuStar already offers .biz domains in 15 languages. The domain .biz has been available in Korean since last August and in Chinese and Japanese since March 2007.

NeuStar said the names in .biz can be registered in one-10 year increments and will be available on a “first come, first served” basis. They will work in all major web browsers including Internet Explorer 7, Firefox and Safari.
